'Persona', Ennistymon Courthouse Gallery, Co. Clare

The exhibition in Ennistymon is coming to an end.  It finishes on Thursday 4th February, 2016. So if you would like to see the new work please drop in. We had a successful opening night, and despite threats of terrible weather a lot of people turned up.

Trudi van der Elsen and Nuala O'Sullivan

People watching people at the opening night

This gallery space is a really well used and successful space.  During the week there are lots of events, yoga, music nights, movies, lectures and some time ago I even went to a flamenco music and dance night there! Trudi and the team do a great job to keep the space accessible and to make everyone feel welcome.  So my thanks to them for all their great work.

Persona, Exhibition at the Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon, County Clare.

Persona opens on Friday the 15th January and runs until the 4th February, 2016.  The show is made up of mainly new works, with just a few older works included. Do come along to see the exhibition if you are in the area.

Its such an interesting process hanging an exhibition and seeing the paintings outside of the work space of the Studio for the first time.  The white gallery walls give them all more space and lots of different interactions seem to come into play between the paintings.  Having unpacked the work, I sat down with Trudi van der Elsen, Curator of the Gallery and we talked and had tea as we looked around us at the paintings leaning against the walls.  Then we began moving work around and pausing for a look at each arrangement.  Working with Trudi was great and she was so helpful with suggestions and advice.  Then we had a short break, so we could get away from the gallery for a while, before returning and making our final decisions with fresh eyes and then in a really short time it was hung and ready for the opening on Friday!

New Studio at Cappamore

I have recently moved from Contact Studios in Limerick to a new custom built studio space in Cappamore.   There are four studios situated alongside the library in the village there.  These were built by the County Council and are all now occupied.  From the city to the country again for me!

The space which began looking pristine and spotless has now begun to take on a more 'lived in' feel as I have been using it every day over the past weeks.    Work is almost finished for my next exhibition which will open in The Courthouse Gallery in Ennistymon, Co. Clare, on the 15th January, 2016.  I am just putting the finishing touches to my new work for that show.

LCGA Exhibition - Visions of Now runs until the 15th January, 2016

This exhibition runs until the 15th January, 2016, so there is still time for a visit.

The exhibition has work from artists with a Limerick connection. I was pleased to be selected to exhibit and I have two works included in the show shown in the image below.
