SoulScapes

SoulScapes Through Art.

An exhibition of artwork selected by artist and poet Jo Slade from Limerick County Council's Permanent Art Collection will accompany and reflect the SoulScapes conversation. I am pleased to have one of my painting feature in the event.

The SoulScapes event sees Friarsgate Theatre, in Kilmallock, County Limerick,  host evenings  that will inspire, uplift and entertain through word, music, dance and song on each Wednesday during November.

They Have Eyes, Exhibition at the Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon, Co Clare.

This is my first two person exhibition and  is something I am really looking forward to. The work of two artists was selected  by the Gallery to be shown together so it will be an interesting experience hanging and presenting the work at the Gallery Space.

My photographic work questions the formation of identity and how the mass media influence us and how we spend our money.
Elaine Byrne enquires whether there is complicity between the object and the subject, with a tension that affects fear, desire, reality and memory, in creating what the viewer actually sees but contemplating the idea that seeing is a reciprocal activity.
The exhibition will be officially opened by Kevin Kavanagh, of Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin, on Friday, 21st October, 2011 at 8.00pm. All are Welcome.
